FAQs for travel nurses

What kind of benefits am I eligible for as a travel nurse?

Oak Healthcare Staffing offers you and your eligible dependents medical insurance provided through Florida Blue. In addition to medical insurance, Oak offers highly competitive compensation, which allows our travel nurses tremendous professional flexibility. In addition, we provide a dedicated travel manager and white-glove plane, hotel, and Uber arrangements to ensure travel is a benefit, rather than a barrier, to your work and life.

What does onboarding look like at my assignments?

Easy! We use one integrated system, making it seamless for you to complete all onboarding paperwork all in one place. You get instant access to your timecard and information detailing your assignment (from dress code to work hours to an outline of your first day), a travel manager arranges all travel (airline, hotel, Uber) to and from the location, and a nurse advocate who will meet you in the lobby to personally walk you to your work area on day one.

What happens if my placement is not a good fit?

Your dedicated Nurse Advocate will meet with you to determine why the fit isn’t working and what types of placements or locations would be a better fit. We will work with you to find a new assignment that better matches your needs and goals.

What happens at the end of my three-month assignment?

If you do not plan to reup your current assignment, that doesn’t have to be the end of your travel nurse journey. Your Nurse Advocate will meet with you and explore where you’d like to go next and what your new professional goals are. With those insights in mind, Oak will share current locations and positions that align with your needs. If you find an opportunity of interest, we will set up an interview in advance of you rolling off your current position. Whether you want a break in between roles or want to go straight into your next assignment, our job and privilege is to provide you with a smooth transition.

Can I refer a friend and travel/work with them?

Sure! We do our best to accommodate professionals who are interested in embracing the travel nurse adventure together. While not all assignments will allow for multiple hires, we are happy to search for opportunities that can work for multiple nurses. We welcome all referrals!

Who can I contact with additional questions?

We love hearing from interested nurses and answering questions. Call us at (855) 478-4004, select option 4 for Recruiting. Our responsive team will get back to you in no time.
